A video of a man's sudden encounter with a tiger at the Corbett Tiger Reserve is gaining traction on social media. The video - posted by IFS officer Parveen Kaswan on X - shows the man walking down the road when he sees a tiger apparently approaching from the bush.
He is then seen walking backward towards a shelter. Luckily for him, the tiger appears to be focussed on something else, possibly a prey, in the tall grasses on the other side of the road.
"Is he the luckiest man alive. Tiger seems least bothered. From Corbett," Parveen Kaswan wrote while sharing the video.
The video was shared on December 8, two days after a woman was mauled to death by a tiger in the Dhela range of Corbett Tiger Reserve.
The 32-year-old woman was cutting grass in a field when the tiger, hiding behind the bushes, attacked her and dragged her away, CTR Director Dhiraj Pandey said.
Forest guards had to fire several rounds in the air to scare away the tiger to recover the woman's body, Pandey said
