On the fifth day of Holi, Rang Panchami is celebrated which is the last day of Holi festivities. This day is said to play Holi with Gods and Goddesses. People in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh celebrate Rang Panchami with a lot of excitement, with devotees playing colours with Lord Krishna and Radha Rani .

This festival is celebrated on the 5th Tithi of Chaitra’s Shukla paksha. This year, it is being celebrated on this Sunday, March 12. According to Hindu calendar, the shubh muhurta will start at 8:35 on March 11 and will end at 8:31 on March 12.
This festival, which comes on the fifth day after Holi is considered for its auspiciousness. A special food is prepared on this day which is known as Puran Poli . There are also other names for this festival, Shree Panchami or Krishna Panchami. If someone plays Holi with Gods on this day, it is said that it fills the house with wealth and fortunes (Shree). On the day of Rang Panchami, Gulal is not put on faces and body, but it is considered auspicious to spread the colours in the air. When this colour flows in air, it destroys darkness and negative energy. This also spreads happiness and positivity in the surroundings.
On the occasion of Rang panchami, the Puja of Radha-Krishna is considered of very importance and auspicious. They are offered with Abir and Gulal. It is believed that performing this Pooja can release us from any planetary bad effects and ones life will be blessed with good fortunes. If someone worships Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi, that brings divine blessings upon them and their loved ones.
